Change the Way You Think About Resolutions

Well, well, well…here we are. January 2023 is prime time for making resolutions.

Past studies and surveys have concluded that, by February, as many as 80% of New Year's resolutions will have been abandoned. Wowzers!

From my experience, many people over-commit. They may start off strong but aren’t trying to reach their goals in a sustainable way. You can’t make a 180 overnight. It just doesn’t work.

Maybe another issue is that many people think about what they have to give up when concocting New Year's resolutions. And there’s fear and anxiety in giving things up.

Instead of “I am going to give up electronics after 7 PM,” maybe it’s “I am going to read for an hour per night before bed.”

You can add an extra hour of sleep per night.

You can add volunteer time.

You can add 32 ounces of water a day.

Here’s to your BEST YEAR EVER!
