When it comes to business and making money, everyone wants to work smarter, not harder.
But why not with fitness?
There tends to be a belief that you should be crushed after a workout, sweating bullets, and sore the next day.
However, working smarter is the way to go.
Work hard when you feel great, but know when you need to dial back your effort. You can’t empty the tank every day.
If you constantly push the effort to build muscle or push weight over technique and never reduce that effort at times to build movement patterns and recovery, then you are headed toward burnout.
Honor your rest days! This means pulling back your training effort so that you can continue to feel good and have more great days ahead of you.
Recovery days have been well-researched and are necessary to make progress. Trust me…it’s science!
